Abstract

India and other emerging nations must learn English if they want to participate in the increasingly globalized social, political, and economic networks. The English language has been constantly changing and evolving since it was first created. Most academic disciplines use English as their primary language, with literature being an exception. Therefore, we must make it a top priority to foster the development of individuals who are fluent in more than one language, including English. This essay discusses the latest developments in ELT, how ICT (information and communication technology) has improved traditional methods of teaching English, the tools that are currently in use, and the difficulties and hurdles that come up when implementing a unified, cutting-edge strategy.
